2020’s cat-astrophic reign is over. Let’s paws for a moment to review the fashion world of that maleficent monster—the domestic cat.

We’ve witnessed the lure of catlore throughout history. Beginning with the sleek, sly Sphinx—with mentions in such classics as Sophocles’ Oedipus and Edith Hamilton’s Mythology—her shrewd riddle eluded all but one. The Egyptian Bastet was worshipped as a lion goddess. And, the Vikings’ adoration of the quirky ginger had them sailing the world, spreading into England, Scotland, and Western Europe upon escape. The result? An intriguing glance into the weird and wacky world of feline fashion.
South Korean Mew-Tro

For those unfamiliar with Mew-Tro, this 80s fashion statement sends an homage to vintage Pretty in Pink-esque charm. From pillbox hats to feline fedoras, it’s simply the purrfect topper for that Mew-Tro look.

A polite nod and wink to the tumultuous Irish (sorry Scots, you’ll get your turn), much like the fickle feline, this age of sea warrior attire lends to the love of water and the covetous prey found within.
Mewtropolitan

This furr-lough into the classics—think Clawed Debussy—was a clear nod to 19th century mod. With temperament and tenacity, this curious ensemble bestows itself to dark patterns, straight lines, and weird, wiry whiskers—moody, yet slimming.

From nudes to tutus, the fluid and enigmatic pearl found its niche.
Pensive Pawsitivity

Short-lived and fun, this February initiative found its inspiration in long, luxurious scarves draped over soft, knit sweaters, securing its place in that week’s fashion.
