“Iceland was a place I always dreamt of visiting,” says Lee. “When I finally had the opportunity to go I thought of all the beautiful places that were special to Iceland that I’ve longed to capture. During the first few days of the trip, it was very difficult for us to shoot since the weather conditions there change 7-8 times a day. The conditions at Vestrahorn Mountain were no different. The winds were incredibly strong and once it started raining we were turned away with a ‘Rain Check’ stamped on our tickets. The next day, on our second attempt, I took my tripod and cemented it into the black sand to make sure the wind would not affect my shot. I was hoping there would be a puddle that would reflect the mountain in my frame, but that didn’t happen. However, the rain finally ceased and when the sun came out for a moment we were elated to be able to have a successful day of shooting.”
