That’s half-time on the Gold Coast!
The Roosters have a 18-4 lead going into the break, but it’s rather surprising considering the time the Titans have had in Sydney’s half.
Suaalii’s strength led to Ikuvalu’s opening score, then Angus Crichton punched through but was lucky not to get into trouble for a double-movement as he appeared to crawl over the line.
Former NRL star-turned-commentator Michael Ennis was also not impressed with Crichton’s cheeky tongue poke at Titans youngster Jayden Campbell as the Rooster found himself in acres of space.
“I did some silly things on the footy field occasionally but this was pretty arrogant from Angus,” Ennis said on Fox Sports.
“He’s a big man. He was always going to challenge young Jayden Campbell.”
Another young NRL rookie Sam Walker showed his class with a beauty of a pass out wide to Tupou who flew through the air to plant the ball and score a sensational try in the corner.
Right before the half-time siren the Titans got one back.
Fogarty found a gap in the Roosters’ strong defence to get the home side on the board, but unfortunately he couldn’t make the conversion.
Some work to do for the Titans in the second half so they can figure out why their attack hasn’t been clicking.
