What are some things you’ve seen (in person, at a shop, online, on someone, etc) that you instantly thought were super ugly but eventually grew on you? Maybe you even ended up buying it or something similar?

Mine is a thrifted J. Crew dress I saw across the shop and wondered who would ever wear such a color. The pictures don’t fully capture the neon, sunburnt safety cone, luminous high-vis vest screaming shade of orange (red?) that reflects onto everything bold enough to be within 6 inches of the fabric. I tried it on as a joke but then… I enjoyed being a shapely buoy, especially for AUD$12. This dress has stayed with me over 3 years now.

Sometimes there is a fine line between love and hate, right?
