We’re two months into the 2021 MLB season, and one thing is clear. Young sluggers are stealing the show. A quick glance at MLB’s home run leaderboard underscores this point. Ronald Acuna, the Braves’ 23-year-old superstar, has led the way all the season, pacing the majors in long balls practically since Opening Day. He’s been so dominant, in fact, that the righty took an at-bat from the left side during a blowout victory a few weeks back. Acuna is joined in the HR chase by 22-year-old Vladimir Guerrero Jr., 28-year-old Adolis Garcia and 22-year-old Fernando Tatis Jr., who has been making history and defying physics all season. Right behind them are 26-year-old Shohei Ohtani and 24-year-old Rafael Devers.
Which brings us to today’s quiz of the day. There is still plenty of season left to play, but these powerful youngsters have a legitimate shot at breaking their respective franchises’ single-season HR records if they can keep up their early-season pace. So with that in mind, how many of the single-season home run record holders for every MLB franchise can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
